After years of development, a lot of heart and even more hands-on gardening, the time has finally come: Grove.eco is now live and you can start straight away.
Drawing up a companion planting bed plan takes real effort – we know that from our own experience. That’s exactly why we built grove: so you can plan your beds exactly the way you need to, without spending hours puzzling over plant combinations, crop rotation and spacing, or flicking through cross-reference tables.
What you can do with grove right now:
You set up your beds exactly as your garden demands – from the classic row companion planting bed with flexible spacing to the refined systems of Gertrud Franck and the Langerhorst family.
The plant database helps you choose what to grow, with comprehensive filters for companion planting, crop rotation, sowing times and harvest windows. Grove also shows you good and less suitable neighbours directly in the plan, warns you about problematic crop rotations and highlights opportunities where beneficial rotations are possible. The right tasks are created automatically for each planting – from starting seeds indoors right through to transplanting.
That way you can plan your entire growing year month by month, with pre-crops and follow-on crops throughout the season. Estimated harvest periods give you a clear picture of your supply across the year and help you spot any gaps.
What’s coming soon:
I’ve launched grove first as a web application. An app for tablets and smartphones is in development and will follow soon.
I still have a short list of things I want to improve in the plant data. Vegetables are almost complete; herbs and the flowers that matter most in companion planting – such as pot marigold, tagetes and phacelia – will be added shortly.
Register now and get started:
Simply sign up at https://app.grove.eco and jump straight into planning your beds for the coming season.
To make getting started easier, you’ll find a detailed guide on our website. A clever chatbot is on hand for questions about the application and about plants and growing methods.
We’re delighted that grove is finally making it into real gardens!
